Grandpa visited this past Sunday and we spent most of the day in the upper lower Hudson Valley.
First, we took a drive up to Beacon, NY, visited a farmer's market, and watched Mercer play at a beautiful riverside park in the shadow of the Newburgh-Beacon Bridge. Right before it was time to go, Mercer got himself in a weird position and fell head over heels. The accident felt like it was in slow-motion and in hindsight, looked hilarious. Mercer laughed it off and gave Daddy a high-five.

Then we headed south to Cold Spring where we had a not-so-quick bite to eat and an extremely windy experience at the waterfront park.
On the way home, Mercer fell asleep but we stopped for coffee in Peekskill at the tidy little Peekskill Coffee House downtown. After that, we took a detour to the Ossining Public Library to take in some friends' artwork on display.
We re-charged our batteries a little bit at home and then had a wonderful dinner at Bridge View Tavern before saying good-bye to Grandpa.
