This past Sunday we were feeling kind of lazy, so we decided to order some food for dinner. Mercer and Dad would pick everything up since everything we were ordering came from the local shopping plaza. We got our coats on and left to make the pick-ups. First, we had to go to the supermarket to drop off a movie. Mercer set the pace with a healthy-paced jog the whole way there. Dad just had to tell him when to stop at crosswalks and the general direction in which to run.
Mercer thought we were shopping at the market, so he told Dad we needed a basket, but after explaining to him that we were only dropping off a movie, Mercer proceeded to deposit the movie himself (in a Red Box).
We then jogged over to Planet Wings to pick up the Dino Nuggets that Mercer loves. They come with a weird smiley face potato ring thing, though Mercer is more interested in looking at these things rather than eating them. Mercer calmly sat at a table while Daddy paid and then it was off to the pizza shop.
At the door, Mercer said he didn't want pizza, but Dad explained it was for Mom and Dad's sandwiches. Mercer said "Oh, OK" and sat at the table drinking his lemonade while Daddy got the sandwich order.
Then we jogged toward home, Daddy's hands full of nuggets, sandwiches, and drinks. On passing the Hibachi restaurant, Mercer exclaimed "Do you see the fire, Daddy?" We passed several more doors, with Mercer asking "Here?" at each one.
Weaving in and out of plowed snowbanks and dodging icy pavement, Mercer and Dad finally made it home where they, along with Mommy, wolfed down their dinners while watching a little bit of Monsters, Inc.
